Accessibility Statement – The StartUp Deck

At The StartUp Deck, we believe every founder should be able to access the tools, guidance, and support they need to build a real business — including on our website.
 
We are committed to making thestartupdeck.com as accessible and user-friendly as reasonably possible for all users, including people with disabilities, low vision, neurodivergence, or assistive technology needs.
 
Our Commitment
We are working towards aligning our website with the principles of:

in line with the intent of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, where feasible for our size and resources.
 
Accessibility is an ongoing process, not a one-time task.
 
What We’re Aiming to Provide
We aim to:

  • Use clear, readable content in plain English

  • Maintain consistent structure, headings, and navigation

  • Ensure text has sufficient colour contrast where possible

  • Make buttons and links descriptive (not just “click here”)

  • Support keyboard navigation for core site functions

  • Provide alt text for key images that convey meaning

  • Avoid excessive flashing or motion that could cause discomfort

  • Ensure forms are labelled clearly and are simple to complete


As our resources grow, we will continue improving the accessibility and usability of our content and tools.

Known Limitations
While we strive for a more inclusive experience, you may still encounter:

  • Some older images or assets without complete alternative text

  • Embedded third-party tools or media with limited accessibility controls

  • PDFs or downloads that may not yet be fully optimised for screen readers
